The people, the place, the table

A little more
than dinner.

A New York address with an Italian point of view.

Our story

It begins with an open door
and a place at the table.

Lume Rosso was born from a simple belief: the best meals are never just about what is on the plate. They are about the people around it, the conversation that wanders, and the pleasure of not being in a hurry.

Our name means “red light”—the warm glow at the heart of an Italian evening. Since opening our doors on Mercer Street, we have set the table for first dates, old friends, family milestones, and the ordinary Tuesdays that turn out to be anything but.

We cook with curiosity and restraint, drawing on the regional traditions we love while making room for New York’s seasons and its extraordinary mix of people.

What guides us

Good things,
done thoughtfully.

A few quiet principles behind every plate, every pour, and every welcome.

01

Let the season speak

We build our menus around what is at its best now, working closely with growers, fishmongers, and producers who care as much as we do.

02

Honor the craft

Our pasta is rolled in-house each morning. Our stocks take time. We believe care is an ingredient you can taste.

03

Make room for everyone

Graceful service should feel effortless. We want each guest to feel looked after, never hurried, and entirely at home.

In the kitchen

Meet Chef
Marco Bellini.

Raised between Emilia-Romagna and New York, Marco learned early that a great meal begins long before service. His cooking marries the precision of the classic Italian kitchen with the generosity of the family table.

At Lume Rosso, he leads a close-knit team committed to honest ingredients, patient technique, and food that makes you want to come back.
